Since it's summer and I'm sadly separated from everyone, I've decided to be a more dilagent blogger. I also think it will be a good venue for me to practice my writing.
And also, since it's summer, can I please send a shoutout to everyone and say:
WEAR SUNSCREEN!
As I have just (very happily) started work as a Medical Assistant for Family Dermatology, can I just say, that in ONE day of work, I saw one heck of a lot of skin cancer. So everyone should go out and get some foundation with some SPF 15 in it or something, and put on SPF 30 or greater if you are going out in the sun for any length of time. I saw a lot of old people with crusty old wrinkly skin and one day, it's going to happen to each one of us. Except maybe Alyssa, because she's concinved she's going to die young. I'm starting to think that might not be a bad way to go. So please, take care of your skin, give it lots of love, use lotion daily and wear suncreen! You want to have nice skin for a long time.
I'm not entirely sure yet, but I think there might be residual benefits to working in Dermatology, besides simply accumulating my clinical hours for PA school. Two of the offices I work at do botox AND laser hair removal, which I might be able to get for free, if I play my cards right... So hopefully I'll come back to school hair-free and with beautiful, glowing skin. I think I'm going to love this job...
